About Re-dress

Re-dress was created in 2007 as a result of a realisation that ‘200 T shirts for the price of 1’ is a bargain that the environment pays a heavy price for.

Re-dress has a number of different strands:

Commissions: individuals can commission unique new garments from their old cherished clothes that are too precious to be thrown away but are no longer worn. The items created retain special memories and a higher sense of consumer attachment, will not be replicated anywhere else on the planet but will now have a new lease of life.

Community and educational workshops: teaching others how to recycle providing a vehicle within which it is possible for those participating to be immersed within the experience of creativity, whilst at the same time building confidence and learning new skills. Individuals meet, share, discuss and form new relationships whilst inevitably questioning consumerism and western excess.

Interactive participatory installation / exhibition work: aimed at raising environmental awareness, offering the opportunity for social interaction, humorous exchanges and inviting new ways of thinking.

Re-dress would like to thank Neil McLeod for helping with all the really big life changing decisions that led to Re-dress being born and Ben Read, The Melting Pot Café, Redruth www.themeltingpotonline.co.uk for a great company name!
