About Lynne Devey

After completing a BA (Hons) in Fine Art at Reading University Lynne continued to do residential and day centre care work with people with learning difficulties and challenging behaviour. She then decided to train as a Secondary School Art and Design teacher.

In 2005 after seven years of teaching and leading departments at both Secondary and Further Education level, Lynne decided that she wanted to concentrate on her own art education and so moved to Cornwall to complete a MA in ‘Contemporary Visual Art’ at Falmouth University. This was an interesting two-year journey that finally resulted in the setting up of ‘re-dress’ as a company.

Since graduating Lynne has continued to run re-dress along with renovating a 24ft (now shocking pink) wooden Folk Boat. In keeping with her environmental ethos many of the objects and materials that found their way into her boat were recycled including the stove made from a diving cylinder that keeps her floating home warm.

Lynne also has a large studio that is only a three minute walk from home and a recent discovery of particularly ‘funky, beautifully pink and very sparkly’ wallpaper has led to a newly wallpapered, re-vamped, re-dressed ‘re-dress HQ !!!!’.

As a result of this transformation Lynne has decided to run her workshops from this very beautiful (pink and sparkly) studio (and so reducing the ‘re-dress’ carbon footprint even further).
